Refresh

Live road events are requested on demand and cached briefly to reduce unnecessary load on the upstream public service. The page shows the time of our latest successful retrieval.

Classification

We preserve the source text and classify records into congestion, incident, roadworks or closure for easier filtering. If the upstream wording indicates a closure, the closure label takes priority.

No fake precision

We do not invent journey-time delays, queue lengths or clearance times when the source does not supply reliable values. Event counts are a snapshot, not a forecast.

Failure handling

If the official source is unavailable or returns an unexpected response, the interface reports the source as unavailable. It does not replace missing data with a misleading “all clear” state.
